How we worked with Judge & Priestley LLP to refresh five London offices, support over 300 people and shape a cyber security roadmap for the years ahead. 

Every matter file, every client communication and every document a law firm holds carries information that has to stay protected. The technology underneath it needs to be dependable when everyone is working flat out, and secure on the day something goes wrong. 

Judge & Priestley LLP came to us needing both. 

The starting point 

The firm works across five London offices, supporting over 300 people on site and in hybrid roles. Its network infrastructure was ageing, and the requirement went well beyond replacing hardware. 

Judge & Priestley needed a secure, resilient and scalable platform. It needed enterprise wired and wireless networking. It needed secure remote access for staff using laptops and mobile devices. It needed stronger cyber security controls, and a long-term technology strategy that sat comfortably alongside the firm's operational and regulatory obligations. 

The firm also wanted an independent view. Someone to assess the performance and security of its public-facing website, and to help build a proactive roadmap for cyber resilience as newer technologies, including artificial intelligence, become part of everyday professional practice. 

How we approached it 

We spent time understanding how the firm actually works before designing anything, and we worked closely with the internal IT team throughout. 

A complete network refresh across all five offices. Built on Cisco enterprise networking technology, with enterprise-class switching, routing and secure wireless infrastructure. Consistent, high-performance connectivity in every office, on a platform with room to grow. 

Secure remote access for a hybrid workforce. Authorised users can work safely from any location, on laptops, mobile devices and other approved endpoints, without compromising the integrity of the firm's systems or its sensitive legal data. 

Cyber security running through all of it. Through a bespoke managed care programme, we continue to provide proactive monitoring, strategic guidance and ongoing support, reducing cyber risk, strengthening access controls and keeping the infrastructure aligned with best practice as it evolves. 

An independent website review. We looked at performance, responsiveness, resilience and security, and made recommendations that improve the experience for visitors while reducing the firm's attack surface. 

What we are working on together now 

We are supporting Judge & Priestley through the next phase of its cyber security strategy. 

That includes evaluating penetration testing, Microsoft tenant hardening, and the implementation of Security Operations Centre and Extended Detection and Response capabilities to strengthen threat detection, incident response and operational visibility. 

We are also assessing Cloudflare's security and performance platform as part of the firm's evolving architecture, covering website performance, intelligent traffic management, DDoS protection, Web Application Firewall capabilities and Zero Trust principles. 

And because artificial intelligence is arriving quickly in the legal sector, we are advising the firm on adopting it safely. That work covers governance frameworks, policies for responsible use, mitigation of risks around confidential client information, and compliance with regulatory obligations. 

The outcome 

Judge & Priestley now runs on a modern, secure and resilient technology platform built for the demands of a contemporary legal practice. People have reliable wired and wireless connectivity across five London offices, and secure access to business systems whether they are in the office, at home or travelling. 

The firm also has something less visible but just as valuable: a clearly defined cyber security roadmap focused on continual improvement and operational resilience. 

By embedding best practice into every stage of delivery, and by working collaboratively with the internal IT team, we have become a trusted strategic technology partner. The firm has reduced operational risk, strengthened its cyber resilience and put itself in a strong position to adopt new technology with confidence.
